We have many inspired thoughts and ideas daily ….. projects to start, new solutions for problems, new actions to take, habits we’re committed to change etc, and then another ‘fear based’ voice pops into our head with a ton of excuses that will talk you out of it like ….
- what are you thinking
- you can’t do that
- what would people think
- how are you going to make that happen
- it’s not safe
- don’t feel like it
Have you had those conversations in your head? I know I have, it’s human, and it’s an ongoing practise to turn things around. We’ve grown up thinking that those voices in our head are real. However those thoughts are just there to ‘protect you’. However do you want to continue to live your life in fear, doubt, anxiety, and lack OR do you now choose to follow your heart, and live an abundant life of joy, happiness and the life you’ve always dreamed of.
One thing I learnt to tackle this is to take ACTION immediately, through Mel Robbins talk on the 5 second rule.
What this means is that the moment you have that thought, you have 5 seconds to take action on it, before your brain will trick you into believing it’s a bad idea. So when you have an intuitive thought do do something…. count yourself down into action 5 … 4 … 3 … 2 … 1 … GO
Take action immediately before you ‘monkey mind’ talks you out of it.
